Athletics - 2008

1359 (Beeston) Sqn have recently achieved considerable success at both Wing & Region Athletics.

At the Wing Athletics competition, held at Saffron Lane in Leicester, the squadron finished 3^rd overall. Notable successes were

·Cadet Flight Sergeant (CFS) Grant who won the Snr girls 400m & High Jump
·Cadet Denham who won the Jnr girls 100m and 400m??
·Cadet Rowe who won the Jnr girls discuss and 200m.
·Cadet Cordon who won the Jnr boys discuss.
·The Jnr girls 4x100m relay, comprised of Cadets Denham, Smith, Rowe and Apple won their event.

These cadets then went on to compete in the Regional Athletics competition held once more at Saffron Lane. Again success was achieved by all of them and they will now represent the Region at the Corps Athletics Competition in September.
